Could Harper be Traded?

In today's world there are a lot of questions and a lot of them are strictly hypothetical.

At this point of the year there are tons of what-ifs. Teams are buying pieces to make a run at the World Series and teams are selling pieces to get a shot at a future championship.

With the Washington Nationals in limbo right now, they do not know yet if they will be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.  Let's say they fall further back and are not in contention for a wild card spot.  Do they start thinking about becoming sellers?

If they do, do they dare think to do the unthinkable? Do they start shopping Bryce Harper?

To me the answer would be YES.

I am saying this because the Nationals would be smart to trade him especially if they do not think they can sign him in the off-season.

Think about it.  Trade him for a huge haul and revamp the team for the future.  It makes the most sense.  He is struggling to make contact with the ball besides the few times he does and the ball goes out of the park.

If they dangle him out there, the packages of prospects that will come their way would be insane.  Every team will send their best offers.  The Nats would be crazy to not entertain the idea.

What do you think?  Should they try to trade him? Should they keep him in hopes of him playing better and pulling them in contention? Only time will tell.
